Carmy

In the cemetery where Alex is buried, there is a grave with three very young boys residing in it. Brothers, they all died on the same day. Whenever I visit the cemetery, I've stopped by their place and wondered what happened to them, how their parents survived this horrible grief - or if they did. There's a poem you should read .. I'll e-mail it to you. I will tell you this: there is no greater loss in life than a mother forced to bear the loss of her child. That mother is grieving the 15-year-old teenager, the 10-year-old boy, the 5-year-old handful, the 2-year-old terror, the baby delivered into her arms in a hospital somewhere, and the 25-year-old man she will never know on this earth. Balloons and bears are entirely appropriate.
