The result of today's practice session (#15). The wife bought me an immense, zippered, hardcover case to safeguard the drawings that are worth keeping, and I think this may be one of them.
#14 was nothing memorable: a so-so cat-girl (a manga mainstay -- learning to draw them is pretty much mandatory) and a group of chibi. Neither was worth photographing.
This one is a different story. Same media as usual (ink and colored pencil on Bristol), but I decided to take a few risks. The first was working with realistic (seinen) proportions and style for the most part. The second was portraying a fantasy character (another elf), and the third was experimenting and improvising with the colors. I saw a hair-color scheme I loved in a cartoon, but was unable to duplicate it in pencil. It should be easier to reproduce in watercolor or acrylic, as I'll be able to mix the colors until I have an exact match.
Merry Christmas.
